Zelensky and Trump may meet to discuss a peace plan
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky aims to meet with US President Donald Trump soon to negotiate the completion of a peace plan regarding the full-scale war. Negotiations on this issue are already actively ongoing between the two parties.
As reported by the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, the US and Ukrainian delegations have generally reached an agreement on many aspects of the peace plan. However, certain “sensitive moments,” especially those concerning territorial concessions, Zelensky wishes to discuss personally with Trump. The meeting may take place during the Thanksgiving celebration on November 27.
Andriy Yermak noted that a meeting during the holiday season may have “symbolic significance.” However, it remains unclear when exactly this long-awaited meeting will occur. According to preliminary data, Donald Trump plans to leave Washington on November 25 and return to Mar-a-Lago by November 30.
Volodymyr Zelensky, speaking at an online coalition meeting, confirmed readiness to discuss the remaining issues in the peace plan with Trump. At the same time, the Ukrainian side believes that the participation of European leaders may be beneficial in this process.
According to the Financial Times, negotiations in Geneva reduced the peace plan from 28 to 19 points. According to an unnamed American official, several issues remain that require further work. Donald Trump, according to reports, is optimistic about a positive outcome.
