Monobank takes a course on artificial intelligence: Mykhailo Rogalskyi relaunches Walkable
Monobank co-founder Mykhailo Rogalskyi decided to disband the team of his Walkable project, transitioning it to artificial intelligence support. The city walking app now works autonomously, guided by new technologies and the entrepreneur’s personal efforts.
Mykhailo Rogalskyi, discussing the changes in the podcast “Friday Evening,” noted that Walkable was initially developed by an outsourcing company. However, after significant expenses, they only managed to complete the design. Later, to launch and support the app, Rogalskyi hired his own team of senior and mid-level developers, as well as project managers. They ensured the operation of Walkable for about a year.
However, it soon became apparent that the expenses for the team were not paying off — new features were not appearing, and the developers were unable to grow. This prompted Rogalskyi to transform Walkable into a platform for experiments with artificial intelligence, in particular, using the neural network Claude, which helps fix bugs and release new updates.
An important achievement was the creation of a bot for processing user feedback on WhatsApp. This bot can recognize and record bugs, create new reports, analyze logs, and form solutions with the help of another AI module.
Walkable was launched in February 2025 for those who value city walks. The idea was born during the pandemic when walks became the main entertainment. The app shows places you have already visited by coloring buildings on the map, allowing travelers to plan their routes.
