Spotify has surpassed 300 million paid subscribers for the first time
In the second quarter of 2026, the number of Spotify’s paid subscribers exceeded the 300 million mark for the first time, which is an important milestone for the company in its development.
Spotify is also continuing to grow its overall user base, reaching 777 million monthly active users, a 12% increase compared to the previous year. The company also demonstrated significant financial growth, increasing its quarterly revenue to 4.8 billion euros, which is 14% more than the same period in the previous year.
Despite raising subscription costs in some regions, the growth of the subscriber base has not stopped. At the same time, Spotify is expanding its range of services, offering fitness content, concert ticket sales, print books, and even magazine narrations.
The company is working intensively on integrating artificial intelligence into its services. Among the latest features are tools for creating personalized podcasts, collaboration with ElevenLabs for audiobook creation, and the ability to create remixes in partnership with music labels.
Despite its successes, Spotify faces criticism for using AI-generated music. In response, the company has implemented a verification system for artists and labeling AI-created compositions to ensure greater transparency.
In response to market demand, in July, Spotify introduced an AI assistant capable of helping users select music, podcasts, and audiobooks through text or voice queries.
