Moscow handed over 28 points to the US for a peace plan to resolve the conflict
The medium-term peace plan proposed by the US is based on a Russian document with 28 points. This became known from unnamed sources who informed Reuters.
Sources reported that the plan was revealed after a meeting between US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Washington. It contains conditions that Moscow put forward for ending the war, including territorial concessions from Ukraine in the east of the country, which were previously rejected by the Ukrainian side.
This document, known in diplomatic circles as an “unofficial document,” became the basis for the American “peace plan” with 28 points. Currently, this document is considered a key element in the peace negotiation process.
The US State Department, as well as the embassies of Russia and Ukraine in Washington, refrain from commenting. The White House expressed optimism about the plan but did not comment directly on the document itself.
There is some criticism and skepticism among American lawmakers, who view the plan as a list of desires from Russia rather than a serious peacemaking effort. The first version of the plan approved by the US envisaged concessions from Ukraine, including the relinquishment of Donbas and the reduction of armed forces.
On November 23, new rounds of negotiations took place in Geneva. As previously reported, the agreements reached may contribute to the advancement of the peace process, although no details are being disclosed. On November 24, it was claimed that the number of points in the plan was reduced from 28 to 19.
Despite this, in various statements, including a statement by the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak, it is said that the current draft corresponds to the interests of Ukraine.
