Railway Connection in the Southeast of Ukraine: Safety Measures Continue

Ukrzaliznytsia continues enhanced safety monitoring on railway connection sections, particularly on the Lozova-Kramatorsk route via Barvinkove. These measures are due to the increased risk level in the region.

Amid recent events, Ukrzaliznytsia is taking additional steps to ensure passenger safety on vulnerable railway sections. Notably, in Zaporizhzhia yesterday, a safe passage of one of the electric trains was provided, which became an important event for the passengers traveling this route. It is expected that a similar route will be conducted on the evening of February 1, and a backup scenario of transferring to buses between Dnipro and Zaporizhzhia will also be tested.

In Kharkiv region, the Lozova-Barvinkove-Kramatorsk section remains in a high-risk zone, and passengers are advised to use the bypass bus route. In Sumy region, train traffic remains operational, while in case of threats, monitoring groups are prepared to stop the trains near shelters. Passengers are recommended to follow official notifications from UZ, particularly in the relevant mobile application.

The previous attack on the “Barvinkove – Lviv – Chop” train on January 27 in Kharkiv region, which resulted in the death of six people, led to temporary restrictions on train movement in the region. Ukrzaliznytsia continues to analyze risks and respond promptly to ensure the safety of its passengers.
