UCRU Helps Ukrainian Companies Become Energy-Resilient

Amid the war and energy instability, hundreds of Ukrainian enterprises are seeking ways to increase energy efficiency and minimize risks associated with blackouts and rising tariffs. Significant support comes from the Green Energy Help Desk project, initiated by the Ukrainian Confederation of Employers’ Organizations (UCRU) with the support of the International Labour Organization and the government of Belgium.

Over six months, UCRU experts conducted nine training webinars, a series of consultations, and three in-depth energy audits at enterprises across various industries. A total of 185 companies and individual entrepreneurs participated in the project. More than 30 companies expressed interest in conducting their own energy audits, while 40 enterprises are ready to continue training, adapt it to their specific needs, and implement modern solutions to reduce energy consumption.

“Together, we are building a new energy infrastructure in Ukraine — resilient to the challenges of war and capable of supporting industry and communities even in crisis conditions,” said Anatoliy Kinakh, Chair of UCRU and President of the Ukrainian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.

Today, the Green Energy Help Desk has become a permanent service platform of UCRU for businesses. Key areas of support include:

  • Professional energy audits of enterprises;

  • Training in energy management and implementation of microgrid systems with cogeneration;

  • Consultations on transitioning to renewable energy sources;

  • Development of tailored techno-economic solutions to reduce costs and energy dependence.

These measures allow companies not only to cut expenses but also to ensure uninterrupted operations during energy crises, ranging from local outages to large-scale blackouts.

“Our specialists help identify optimal solutions for each business — from equipment modernization to the implementation of energy storage systems and self-generation,” UCRU experts note.

The organization invites all interested enterprises to join the community of energy-efficient businesses, receive consultations, conduct audits, or undergo training to enhance resilience to energy challenges and reduce costs.
