SpaceX plans a historic IPO with a valuation of $1.75 trillion and a fixed share price
SpaceX has announced that it plans to conduct an initial public offering with a fixed price of $135 per share and aims to achieve a market valuation of $1.75 trillion.
According to Reuters, SpaceX intends to sell approximately 555 million shares, which will allow it to raise nearly $75 billion. This is an extraordinary step, as the company has set a fixed share price even before officially starting to collect bids from investors. Usually, companies announce a price range before the IPO, and the final price is determined by demand. Moreover, all the raised funds will remain with SpaceX, as current shareholders will not sell their shares within this offering.
Elon Musk, the founder of SpaceX, will be required to hold onto his company shares for at least a year after going public. Income obtained through the IPO, SpaceX plans to use to expand computing capabilities for artificial intelligence projects and to further develop the satellite network that the company has actively been building in recent years.
SpaceX started preparing for the IPO back in 2025, planning to list approximately by the end of 2026, although the timing may change depending on market conditions. The company’s estimated revenue is expected to grow from $15 billion in 2025 to $22–24 billion in 2026.
In preparation for the IPO in 2026, SpaceX planned to list its shares on the Nasdaq exchange to enter the Nasdaq 100 index. Ideas of potentially merging SpaceX with other Elon Musk companies, such as Tesla or the AI startup xAI, were considered. In May, xAI transformed into SpaceXAI, consolidating all artificial intelligence products under the SpaceX brand. This increases synergy between Musk’s various businesses, particularly in the development of artificial intelligence.
