In July, prices increased in Ukraine: what became more expensive the most

Consumer prices in Ukraine rose by 0.3% in July, with annual inflation reaching 7.7% according to the State Statistics Service. At the same time, some foods and clothing became cheaper.

In July 2026, inflation in Ukraine’s consumer market was 0.3% compared to June, and 7.7% compared to July 2025, reports the State Statistics Service. An important indicator, core inflation, which excludes the most volatile prices, reached 0.3% for the month and 8.1% in annual terms.

Interestingly, in July, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages decreased on average by 0.2%. Eggs became cheaper by 6%, and vegetables by 5.9%. Meanwhile, pork, poultry, grain processing products, and lard also became cheaper. However, the prices of fruits, fish and fish products, sunflower oil, dairy products, bread, and pasta increased by 0.6% to 1.5%.

Prices for clothing and footwear decreased overall by 4.8%, with clothing becoming 5.8% cheaper and footwear 3.5% cheaper. Regarding utilities, water supply tariffs increased by 31.9%, and sewage tariffs by 29.8%. Annually, these services have already increased by 52.1% and 48.8%, respectively. Transportation costs rose by 1.3%, with road transport fares rising by 6% and railway by 2.7%. Prices for alcohol and tobacco increased by 1.5%, with tobacco products rising by 1.8%.

This price dynamic occurs amid the general improvement of Ukrainian business expectations regarding business activity in the next 12 months in the second quarter of 2026.
