Apple announced a new generation of devices focused on artificial intelligence and powerful chips
At a special event, Apple unveiled new smartphones, tablets, laptops, and displays, focusing on the power of the M5 series chips and its proprietary artificial intelligence, Apple Intelligence.
In early March 2026, Apple held the Special Apple Experience event to present its novelties. Among the biggest announcements were the iPhone 17e, iPad Air with the M4 chip, updated MacBook Pro and MacBook Air with M5 Pro and M5 Max chips, as well as modern Studio Display and Studio Display XDR.
Affordable iPhone 17e
The innovative iPhone 17e will be the most affordable model in the series, priced from $599. The new smartphone is equipped with an A19 chip and an improved C1X modem, which is twice as fast as its predecessor. The 48 MP main camera is complemented by a 2x optical telephoto capability, and the 6.1-inch screen is protected by Ceramic Shield 2 glass, which is three times more scratch-resistant. The base memory capacity has been increased to 256 GB. Pre-orders opened on March 4, and sales start on March 11.
iPad Air updates
The new iPad Air received the M4 chip, which is 30% faster than the previous model. The tablet is available in two sizes—11 and 13 inches, with memory capacity of up to 12 GB. Thanks to the N1 chip, Wi-Fi 7 support is added. The price for the 11-inch model starts at $599, and the 13-inch from $799.
MacBook Pro and MacBook Air: a new level of power
The MacBook Pro with professional M5 Pro and M5 Max chips promises to perform AI tasks 4 times faster. Models are equipped with SSDs reaching speeds of 14.5 GB/s. The starting price for the 14-inch MacBook Pro is $2,199. Meanwhile, the MacBook Air now supports two external displays, features Center Stage camera, and is based on 512 GB of memory. Its price starts at $1,099.
Studio Display and Studio Display XDR
Updated monitors come with Thunderbolt 5 ports to connect up to four devices, while the Studio Display XDR features mini-LED backlighting and supports 120 Hz refresh rate. Prices for the new displays are $1,599 and $3,299 respectively.
Economic solution — MacBook Neo
MacBook Neo, priced from $599, is oriented towards education and everyday tasks. Equipped with an A18 Pro chip, the laptop performs 50% faster than similar PCs with Intel Core Ultra 5. The device offers up to 16 hours of battery life, a 13-inch Liquid Retina display, and artificial intelligence integration features.
