Ukrainian arms manufacturers received preferential loans amounting to almost 10 billion UAH.

Ukrainian defense enterprises received UAH 9.8 billion in preferential loans under the state program. This was reported by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko. This was made possible through the signing of 162 credit agreements.

The state support program allows defense companies to receive loans for production development and working capital replenishment. Enterprises can attract up to UAH 500 million for a period of up to five years for production purposes and up to UAH 100 million for up to three years for working capital. The funds received will be directed to the development, production, repair, and modernization of weapons, equipment, and their components.

In early June, the Verkhovna Rada adopted amendments to the state budget for 2026, which foresee an increase in defense spending by UAH 1.56 trillion. As a result, the total funding of the sector will amount to UAH 4.4 trillion. Of these, UAH 2.3 trillion will be allocated for the purchase of weapons and military equipment, and over UAH 1.4 trillion for payments of financial support to military personnel. In addition, the updated budget provides for the allocation of UAH 40 billion for financing regional resilience and the protection of critical infrastructure.

This financial initiative underscores the priority of strengthening Ukraine’s defense potential against current security challenges. Additionally, at the end of May, the government allocated UAH 10.84 billion for the development of the defense industry. This indicates the systemic work of the state in enhancing national defense and security capabilities.
