Ukraine has completed the development and testing of a new guided aerial bomb (GAB), which is now ready for combat deployment. This project is the result of joint efforts between the Brave1 defense cluster and the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov emphasized that the new GAB is a fully Ukrainian development, not based on Western or Soviet models. The project lasted 17 months and was created taking into account modern wartime realities. The main goal of the bomb is to target fortifications, command posts, and other enemy targets dozens of kilometers away after being dropped. The bomb’s combat unit is equipped with a weight of 250 kg.
The Ministry of Defense has already purchased the first experimental batch of new bombs. Currently, pilots are undergoing training to work on scenarios of their use and adapt the technology to real combat conditions.
It is worth noting that by April 2026, 24 Ukrainian companies have been involved in the experimental private air defense project, demonstrating the active participation of the private sector in the development of national security.
