Trump expressed disappointment that Zelensky did not review the peace plan
U.S. President Donald Trump stated that he is “a bit disappointed” because Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has not yet reviewed his “peace plan.” Trump made this statement during a conversation with journalists at the White House.
When asked about his next steps in negotiations with Russia, Trump noted that he had communicated with Russian President Vladimir Putin, as well as with Ukrainian leaders, including Zelensky. He expressed disappointment because, at the time, after a few hours, his proposal had not yet been reviewed by the Ukrainian President.
Trump added that, according to his information, Zelensky’s team has responded positively to the plan. However, in his opinion, Russia “would prefer to have the whole country,” but at present, they do not express objections to this peace plan. He also noted that there might be possible discontent from Zelensky.
Earlier, negotiations between Wiktaw and Kushner with Putin took place and lasted nearly five hours, which were positively assessed by Washington. After this, a phone conversation took place between Zelensky and representatives of his delegation with Wiktaw and Kushner regarding the ending of Russia’s war against Ukraine. Zelensky also reported receiving information from the Ukrainian delegation about the content of the Russian-American negotiations in Moscow.
