The ministry assures that the notification of a fine in the “Reserve+” app is not an administrative penalty and has no legal consequences. Women who received such a notification are advised to contact the government’s hotlines (1545) or the Ministry of Defense (1512), or to submit an inquiry through the mobile app “1545”.
In Ukraine, women serve in the army solely on a voluntary basis, but those with medical or pharmaceutical education must be registered for military service. The Ministry of Defense promises to correct the technical error with the registration of women soon.
Amidst these events, the Cabinet of Ministers recently approved a mechanism for deferrals after a year of contract service. Meanwhile, there are ongoing discussions regarding the rationale for female mobilization and the possibility of conscript women traveling abroad.
