Ukrainian drones hit oil refinery in Nizhny Novgorod region
The Ukrainian military attacked the Lukoil-Nizhny Novgorodnefteorgsintez oil refinery in the city of Kstovo, using over 50 drones. The attack took place on the night of November 4.
The controlled operation was carried out by military intelligence in conjunction with pilots of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and Special Operations Forces of the AFU. The target was an important infrastructure facility involved in the repair of a rectification column, which had been previously attacked. The appearance of information about this was confirmed by Russian sources.
The refinery in Kstovo is one of the leading refineries in Russia, and its products, including automotive, aviation, and diesel fuel, are actively used in the Russian military-industrial complex. After the attack, there were reports of a fire in the industrial area of the refinery.
This event took place against the backdrop of other attacks by the Defense Forces of Ukraine on critical Russian infrastructure, including recent strikes on the port of Tuapse and the Saratov refinery. Such actions could have a significant impact on the fuel supply to Russian regions and the ability of Russian troops to conduct military operations.
The attack demonstrates an escalation of the conflict and Ukraine’s growing ability to disrupt Russian infrastructure, which could have long-term consequences for both sides of the conflict.
