Ukrainian drones damaged important petrochemical plants in Russia
Ukrainian Armed Forces strike drones caused damage to key petrochemical enterprises in Bashkortostan and Nizhny Novgorod region of Russia, which are involved in supplying the aggressor’s army with aviation fuel.
As a result of the night attack on November 4, the “Lukoil-Nizhegorodnefteorgsintez” petrochemical complexes in Kstovo and a plant in Sterlitamak were affected. Both enterprises hold strategic importance in the context of the Russian defense industry. The strike in Sterlitamak, located more than 1300 kilometers from the Ukrainian border, resulted in significant damage to one of the shops producing components for high-quality aviation kerosene.
According to confirmed information, Ukrainian special forces played an important role in the success of the operation, and the General Staff is continuing to clarify the extent of the damage. In previous days, a fuel storage facility in the temporarily occupied territories of Kherson region was also hit.
The strike on these key petrochemical infrastructure targets could significantly complicate Russia’s ability to continue military operations, experts believe. Some analysts note that such operations may affect the supply of fuel to the Russian army and also reduce financial revenues from these industrial objects to the budget of the aggressor state.
