Ukrainian drones successfully hit air defense near Novorossiysk, experts assess the consequences
On November 14, Ukrainian drones destroyed part of the air defense systems in Novorossiysk. This was made possible due to a Security Service of Ukraine operation, a source informed LIGA.net.
The special operations unit “Alpha” of the Security Service of Ukraine, with the support of other structures of the Security and Defense Forces, carried out an attack that destroyed four launchers of the S-400 “Triumf” complex and two high-significance radars on the territory of a military unit of the Kuban Red Banner regiment. The source also provided satellite images “before” and “after” the attack, confirming the success of the operation.
A total of up to 12 S-400 “Triumf” SAM launchers were located in this area, and there is a possibility that other installations were also damaged. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed that that evening numerous strategic objects in Russia were hit, which, among other things, affected the suspension of oil exports through the port of Novorossiysk and a 2% decrease in global supply.
Experts emphasize that the destruction of these systems creates “gaps” in the enemy’s defense, which can be exploited by Ukrainian drones and missiles, intensifying strikes on important military and logistical enemy targets.
