President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced that Russian troops are building up forces in the Dobropillia direction in preparation for a possible counteroffensive. This was revealed during his recent briefing.
In his speech, Zelensky noted that the Defense Forces of Ukraine continue to liberate territories, but the Russian occupiers are preparing to respond to these successes. The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is absolutely convinced that Ukraine has retained the initiative, but reports of the accumulation of Russian troops indicate the potential for a counterattack.
Earlier, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, emphasized that due to the activity of Ukrainian forces at the Dobropillia salient, the enemy is forced to disperse its forces, complicating the ability of Russia to concentrate main resources in the Pokrovsk area. It is known that currently the occupying forces are focusing their main efforts precisely in Pokrovsk, where the defense is led by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In the context of this situation, analysts point out that a possible Russian counteroffensive could impact the overall war strategy.
