Poland has invested $11 million in the artificial intelligence startup ElevenLabs, fostering the development of its tech sector. The investment was made by the state development bank BGK under the AI Lab Poland program.
The investment in ElevenLabs is part of the Polish government’s initiative aimed at making the country one of Europe’s innovation centers for artificial intelligence. The AI Lab Poland initiative aims to build a national technological ecosystem to drive economic growth. ElevenLabs CEO Mati Staniszewski stated that the funds will be directed towards the company’s expansion in the region, with plans to increase the staff to over 200 employees within 18 months.
The company ElevenLabs, founded in 2022, specializes in voice AI and conversational audio. It has already achieved significant success in collaborating with renowned personalities and companies, such as Michael Caine, Deutsche Telekom, and Deliveroo. Last year, ElevenLabs signed a cooperation agreement with Ukraine’s Ministry of Digital Transformation to integrate voice technologies into the country’s public services.
Experts note that such investments contribute to the development of the tech sector in Poland, ensuring the country’s competitiveness in the European innovation market. The Polish initiative could serve as a model for other countries striving for rapid implementation of cutting-edge technologies.
