Olena Skyrta joined the venture fund SMRK as an investment director. She will become the fourth member of the team, focused on finding startups in the deep-tech sector.
Olena Skyrta, known for her work at the organization INSCIENCE, has been appointed as the investment director of the venture fund SMRK, which specializes in investments in startups at stages from Seed to Series B. Skyrta’s main task will be to find and support startups with a focus on deep-tech, as well as strengthening cooperation with the fund’s partners. The team, which already consists of four key individuals, includes MacPaw founder Oleksandr Kosovan, managing partner Andriy Dovzhenko, and partner Vlad Tislenko.
Since its inception, SMRK has invested in 24 projects, achieving significant success in the form of five exits. Among the most notable successful exits are the startups Preply, Apostera, and Allset. The fund also actively supports innovative developments in logistics, prosthetics, and combating misinformation.
Before joining SMRK, Skyrta played an important role in the development of INSCIENCE, where she focused on the organization’s strategy and building partnerships. Her experience includes participation in projects at the intersection of science and business, as well as in retraining programs for women in technical specialties.
