Ukrainian forces carried out more than 8,000 strikes on Russian territory in the first half of 2026.
According to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, in the first six months of 2026, Ukrainian forces carried out 7,725 strikes on Russian territory using Deep Strike and Middle Strike class drones.
As part of the Deep Strike campaign, 697 strategic targets in the enemy’s rear were destroyed. The Middle Strike forces hit 7,028 targets at an operational depth. The direct and indirect economic losses to Russia from these strikes amounted to at least 6.1 billion USD.
During the first half of the year, artillery completed more than 456,000 fire missions, missile forces launched more than 1,140 strikes, Air Force aviation carried out over 1,100 strikes, and support units completed about 1,400 strikes. During this period, the Russian army attempted to launch a large-scale offensive, but did not achieve any of its set goals.
Oleksandr Syrskyi noted that the pace of Russian troops’ advancement had significantly slowed down as a result of the active actions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces. Whereas previously Russia was advancing on 13 operational fronts, this number has been reduced to six or seven. The ratio of Ukrainian to Russian assaults is 40 to 60 in favor of the opponent.
Russian forces continue to attempt a full occupation of the Luhansk and Donetsk regions, plan to expand their offensive in the Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia regions, and aim to create a buffer zone in the northern regions of Ukraine.
In June 2026, Ukrainian air defense shot down nearly 5,300 aerial targets during Russian attacks, demonstrating the effectiveness of Ukraine’s airspace protection.
| Campaign | Targets Hit |

| Deep Strike | 697 |
| Middle Strike | 7028 |
