Lego introduced an innovative smart brick at the CES 2026 exhibition
The Lego Group presented the Smart Brick at the CES 2026 exhibition — a minicomputer in the shape of a classic brick, which is part of a significant update in the Lego system.
The smart brick, the size of a classic 2×4, is equipped with NFC sensors, a microphone, and inertial sensors. New technologies allow recognizing special “smart tags” and synchronizing multiple objects using Bluetooth-mesh. The innovative system uses wireless charging and does not require cameras to read codes, unlike previous interactive Lego products.
The first three sets based on Star Wars with Smart Brick will go on sale on March 1, 2026. They will include Darth Vader’s TIE Fighter priced at $70, Luke Skywalker’s X-Wing for $100, and the throne room duel scene for $160.
Lego representatives emphasize that artificial intelligence technologies are not used in the smart brick, and no audio recording is conducted. The device focuses only on reacting to physical actions in real time.
