Enhanced Police Patrols Ensure Safety Amid Power Outages in Kyiv
Following a massive Russian attack on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, the number of police patrols in Kyiv and the surrounding regions has been increased. Law enforcement officers are active on the city’s streets and are prepared to respond swiftly to emergencies.
During the night of October 10th, Russia launched over 450 drones and more than three dozen missiles, targeting critical infrastructure in Ukraine. This resulted in emergency power outages across various regions. Amid the unstable electricity supply situation, Ukrainian authorities have increased the number of police patrols and special service units on the streets of Kyiv and other regions.
Yulia Svyrydenko, the Prime Minister of Ukraine, along with the city police, announced that police units, including special forces, bomb technicians, and canine teams, are conducting increased security operations. Their goal is to ensure citizens’ safety and provide swift responses to challenges caused by power outages.
Citizens can contact Kyiv police via messaging apps like WhatsApp, Viber, and Telegram in case of mobile network outages. This will allow for effective communication and quick interaction with law enforcement in critical situations.
These measures aim to protect the population and prevent criminal activities that might occur in the dark periods when power is unavailable. Experts believe that coordinating actions among various services is crucial for stabilizing the situation.
