Two lionesses escaped from a zoo corner in Khmelnytskyi: police launched an investigation
Law enforcement officers in Khmelnytskyi began an investigation into the fact of animal cruelty after the escape of two lionesses from a zoo corner, which led to the death of other animals.
On November 15, at about 10:55, the police received a report about the escape of two lionesses from enclosures in the zoo corner on Parkhomenko Street. One of the lionesses was quickly returned to the enclosure, but the other managed to leave the area. The escape of the animals led to the death of some other inhabitants of the zoo corner.
The law enforcement officers initiated a pre-trial investigation under the article on animal cruelty, which provides for a maximum penalty of up to three years in prison with confiscation of animals. During the investigation, all circumstances of the event are being established.
Later, at 21:22, the police reported that the second lioness was found and put into a state of medical sleep, after which she was transported to a safe place.
