Foreign investments in Ukraine’s defense and technology startups exceeded expectations in 2025, despite military challenges. Defense developments, which attracted significant funds from US, Danish, and British syndicates, were in the spotlight.
Ukrainian defense companies continue to attract the attention of foreign investors. In particular, the startup Swarmer raised $15 million in a Series A round led by American Broadband Capital Investments. This indicates an interest in defense technologies, which increasingly play a crucial role in modern military conflict and their potentially commercial applications.
Experts note the active role of international funds and companies in the restoration and development of the Ukrainian startup ecosystem. Among other major deals in 2025 were investments in Tencore, Trypillian, and Dropla Tech, which received foreign support for the implementation of innovations in robotic platforms, deep impact systems, and dual-use technology.
Besides defense developments, significant attention was given to projects in the fields of EdTech and HRtech, as well as artificial intelligence. For example, the platform Headway received support from Bullhound Capital, demonstrating growing investor interest in the intangible export of Ukrainian technologies.
Investments in education are also not overlooked. For instance, Google invested $1.5 million in the “Dream” project aimed at developing Ukraine’s educational ecosystem and implementing AI tools for learning.
