Drone attacks in Bashkortostan and Nizhny Novgorod region of Russia: fires at industrial sites
On the night of November 4, drones attacked sites in Bashkortostan and the Nizhny Novgorod region of Russia, leading to fires at several industrial sites, including oil refineries.
According to information spread by Russian Telegram channels and local residents, in the city of Sterlitamak in Bashkortostan, drone strikes hit industrial sites. The head of the republic, Radiy Khabirov, stated that the drones were shot down, and their debris fell into the industrial zone. Despite his claims of normal operation of the enterprise, local residents are publishing videos of the fire, asserting that ASTRA aerial images indicate damage to the Sterlitamak petrochemical plant, which specializes in the production of rubber and other chemicals.
In the Nizhny Novgorod region, residents of Kstovo reported drone attacks on the industrial zone. According to ASTRA’s OSINT analysis, fires broke out near the “Lukoil-Nizhegorodnefteorgsintez” and “SIBUR-Kstovo” petrochemical plants. Local authorities have not yet commented on the situation.
The Russian Ministry of Defense reported allegedly shooting down 85 drones, including 20 in the Nizhny Novgorod region and 2 in Bashkortostan. The highest activity was recorded in the Voronezh region with 40 UAVs.
Such attacks may indicate growing vulnerability of Russian strategic sites and increased tension in the region. In recent days, Russian industrial facilities have repeatedly come under attack. On November 2, the SBU struck the port in Tuapse, and on the night of November 3, targeted sites in the Saratov region. Experts note that continuation of such strikes could have serious consequences for Russia’s oil infrastructure.
