Missile strike in Dnipropetrovsk region: military and civilians killed, investigation launched
On November 1, Russian forces launched a missile-drone strike on a settlement in the Samarskyi district of the Dnipropetrovsk region, resulting in deaths and injuries among both military personnel and civilians. As a result of the attack, personnel changes occurred in the leadership of the Ukrainian Naval Forces.
The incident occurred during the awarding of a marine brigade. It is known that the strike hit the central part of the settlement, where, according to the 30th Marine Corps, there were no special facilities or military units. Preliminary reports indicate that among the dead are also civilian residents.
A criminal investigation has been initiated as a result of the shelling. According to the State Bureau of Investigations, the actions of commanders are being analyzed for possible negligence in their duties during martial law. Additionally, several officials have been temporarily suspended from their duties.
This attack is part of rising tensions in the region, as a similar incident involving the 128th Marine Brigade occurred earlier in November 2023, when there were casualties during a formation for an award ceremony.
Experts note that attacks on military sites in such situations pose an especially high risk to the lives and duties of both military and civilians in the attack zone. This underscores the need for increased security measures during military and official events, especially in frontline regions.
