Daily Hormone Tracking in Seconds: Interview with OVUL, Winner of the 2025 Startup Competition

Ukrainian Startup OVUL Wins IT Arena Competition, Implementing Unique Technology

Ukrainian company OVUL, which developed a gadget for monitoring women’s hormonal balance, has won the startup competition at IT Arena 2023. This achievement highlights the significance of the company’s innovative approach in the field of women’s health.

OVUL was founded by Ihor Kovalenko and Serhiy Zatsarynin based on the idea of creating a compact device for hormone monitoring using artificial intelligence. The startup’s journey began in late 2022 when the co-founders decided to transition from traditional lab methods to a personalized gadget available for daily use. Despite initial modest investments, the startup plans to scale its operations by leveraging experience from collaborations with major companies, particularly in the medical field.

The victory at IT Arena opens new opportunities for OVUL for networking and further funding. Contest participants appreciated the support received from mentors and other startups, which helped strengthen the project’s presentation. The company now plans to expand its product market, particularly in the United States where reproductive health issues are prevalent.

OVUL’s core product enables users not only to track ovulation but also to receive personalized advice based on hormonal changes, leading to a better understanding of their health. As the founders note, important insights include not just current indicators but also their analysis considering the user’s individual history.

The technological component of OVUL is based on a three-tier artificial intelligence system that includes image recognition, a chatbot for user support, and the generation of personal recommendations. Thanks to this technology, the startup has already helped some women detect medical conditions at early stages.

The funding raised at IT Arena will assist OVUL in developing a marketing strategy and further enhancing the app’s functionality. The company also plans to expand its presence in international markets through partnership programs.

Country Users Distribution
USA 100+ Main market
Ukraine 50-100 Local studies
Other countries 50+ Expansion

OVUL continues to actively promote its innovative solutions on the global stage, serving as an inspiration for other young entrepreneurs in the health-tech sector.
