More than a thousand civilians remain in Pokrovsk during hostilities
As of November 5, about 1200 civilians remain in Pokrovsk despite active hostilities in the city, reports the Donetsk regional military administration.
According to local authorities, there are about 1800 people in the community. The majority of residents are low-mobility groups, but the accuracy of this data cannot be guaranteed due to the active hostilities in Pokrovsk and neighboring Myrnohrad, stated OVA representative Dmytro Petlin. Moving civilians from the city is currently an extremely difficult task, and volunteers are facing challenges in creating statistics on evacuees.
Hostilities complicate the supply of food, in particular, it is now impossible to deliver products to Radensk, Pokrovsk, and Myrnohrad. Meanwhile, in Kramatorsk, about 5000 residents remain from the total population of 5200 people.
According to official statistics, 199,000 people live in the peaceful part of the Donetsk region, of which 1337 are children, however, none of them are in areas of active hostilities.
Given the impossibility of delivering humanitarian aid to certain areas of the region, the situation with the evacuation of the population is becoming increasingly tense. Experts note that it is important to find ways to safely deliver humanitarian aid and evacuate civilians to prevent a humanitarian crisis.
