The Netherlands allocates €10 million to strengthen Ukraine’s cyber defense
The Dutch government has decided to allocate €10 million to enhance Ukraine’s digital resilience and cyber defense. These funds will be part of the financing of the “Ukrainian Cyber Programme” initiated by the UK government in 2022.
The funds will be directed towards strengthening the cyber infrastructure of government bodies, purchasing software and hardware for state institutions and critical infrastructure. Incident investigations and mitigation of cyberattack consequences are also planned. Additionally, part of the funds will be used to finance projects within the Tallinn Mechanism, which assists Ukraine in enhancing its cyber resilience.
This step by the Netherlands is part of a broader strategy to support Ukraine’s cyber defense by Western countries amid modern digital security challenges. Such initiatives are critical given the growing threat of cyberattacks, which can impact not only national security but also the country’s economic stability.
