Meta plans to enhance the presence of artificial intelligence on its platforms
Meta announced a significant increase in AI-generated content in the recommendation feeds of its platforms. CEO Mark Zuckerberg shared this during a financial results conference.
Mark Zuckerberg noted that social networks are approaching a new era where traditional content from friends and creators will be complemented by AI-generated material. It is known that algorithms that deeply understand and process such content are becoming increasingly important, helping users achieve their goals.
The new type of content that the company is already actively implementing is the Vibes feed, where users have created over 20 billion images. Additionally, Meta is introducing AI features for photo and video editing in Instagram Stories and implementing AI-based chatbots in WhatsApp, Messenger, and Instagram.
Although the company demonstrated record revenue, Meta’s shares fell by more than 7% due to rising capital expenditures driven by AI investments.
Experts note that shifting the focus to AI could not only increase audience retention but also provide new opportunities for advertisers. However, it also raises questions about ethics and potential abuses that may arise from using such technology.
| Platform | AI Feature | User Activity |
|---|---|---|
| Stories Editing | Active Users | |
| Vibes | Image Generation | 20 Billion Images |
| AI-Based Chatbots | Worldwide |
