How manufacturers can obtain a license to develop for the Armed Forces of Ukraine: a step-by-step guide

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has granted licenses to private companies for the production of its own military technologies. This opens up new opportunities for scaling up the production of Octopus interceptor drones and Witrak detectors.

According to the Ministry of Defense, private manufacturers have the option to obtain the right to use these technologies to supply them to the Defense Forces. The list of solutions available for licensing includes not only the Octopus interceptor drone and Witrak detector but also guided munitions and communication, control, and guidance systems for unmanned systems and ground robotic complexes (GRC).

To obtain a license, businesses need to use the Brave1 platform, which has digitized the application submission process. Company owners can submit an application through an electronic cabinet, which is mandatory within the framework of the experimental project. After the Ministry of Defense processes the requests and signs the non-disclosure agreement (NDA), the manufacturer can conclude an official contract for the serial production of the technology.

The integration of private businesses into the production of defense equipment can strengthen Ukraine’s military potential and contribute to the modernization of existing resources. This process is part of a broader government strategy to engage with private companies to enhance the country’s defense capabilities.
