ZAS Ventures invests €2.4 million in Gamow Tech for IVF technology development
Venture capital fund ZAS Ventures has invested €2.4 million in the Ukrainian startup Gamow Tech, which develops AI-based technologies to enhance the efficiency of in vitro fertilization (IVF) procedures.
Gamow Tech is actively developing ReSpindle, a tool that uses computer vision to analyze eggs and detect chromosomal abnormalities, which are a key reason for decreased fertility with age. By providing non-invasive real-time egg quality assessment, this approach can replace more expensive traditional genetic tests, making advanced screening technologies more accessible to medical clinics worldwide.
Andriy Zinchuk, founder and managing partner of ZAS Ventures, believes that ReSpindle technology is a breakthrough in women’s health and reproductive medicine as it helps address important IVF procedure problems without invasive intervention.
Having launched in 2023, the ZAS Ventures fund has already invested in 17 companies working in artificial intelligence, SaaS, and medical technologies. The genesis of Gamow Tech is linked to the collaboration between embryologist Pavlo Mazur and technological partners, with David Maiboroda leading technical development. The company already has research agreements with nine leading clinics, covering over 1% of the global IVF market.
The investments from ZAS Ventures will be directed towards accelerating product development, conducting multi-faceted clinical validation, and preparing for CE certification in the EU.
