Transferring playlists has become easier — Spotify now has a tool for importing from other platforms.

Spotify integrates a playlist import function for easy transition from other services

The music streaming service Spotify has introduced a new feature that allows users to import playlists from other platforms directly from the mobile app.

Integration with the TuneMyMusic app simplifies the migration of music collections from services like Apple Music, YouTube Music, Amazon Music, and Tidal. Now users no longer need to use third-party web services to transfer playlists — this process has become part of the standard features of the Spotify app.

To use the new feature, the user must enter the “Your Library” section, scroll down the page, and select the import option. The system will then redirect them to TuneMyMusic, where they need to choose the playlist source and confirm the copy. Importantly, the original playlists remain untouched on the old platforms, allowing easy transfer without any losses.

This step could significantly change the dynamics of the music streaming services market, as easing the migration process questions users’ loyalty to other platforms. Spotify seeks to attract new users by providing them with quick and convenient access to familiar music content without additional time and effort.

Moreover, this feature should be considered in the context of Spotify’s recent acquisitions, such as the purchase of WhoSampled, a platform specializing in analyzing samples in music tracks. This emphasizes Spotify’s desire to expand its range of services and fill a niche for true music enthusiasts.
