The Gemini app from Google has surpassed one billion users per month, becoming the fastest-growing product in the company’s history.
Google has reported that users are actively switching to new interaction formats with the service, emphasizing the increasing popularity of voice communication. According to the company, 63% of users choose this method, with a growing share of those using the “voice-only” format. Parents use voice commands 43% more often for everyday tasks. Additionally, one in five instances of Gemini Live usage combines audio with other forms of interaction, such as camera streaming or screen sharing. This is particularly popular among students and craftsmen.
The app also generates over 150 million images daily. Small businesses widely use these capabilities to create marketing materials, combining images, video, and audio.
It is recalled that in July 2026, the European Union required Google to provide third-party AI assistants with broader access to Android features and share search data. This decision was made due to concerns that Google might use its dominant position in the mobile platform market to limit competitors.
