New Feature of DOT-Chain Defence Will Allow Military to Create Drones According to Their Needs
The Defense Procurement Agency, in collaboration with the State Logistics Operator, has introduced an innovative “Drone Builder” for the DOT-Chain Defence weapons marketplace. The functionality will provide the opportunity to select technical parameters of drones targeting specific combat tasks by the end of 2025.
This innovation will enable the military to define key drone characteristics, such as communication frequency, flight altitude, camera type, and other parameters. After forming a request, manufacturers will be able to automatically send proposals for producing appropriate devices. If the customer is satisfied with the conditions, the drone is sent into production. Arsen Zhumadilov, a representative of the project, noted that within the next six months, 70% of supplying the military with drones will occur through this system.
The functionality is developed in response to military requests, which will allow them to perform their tasks more effectively. It is worth emphasizing that currently, German drones from Quantum Systems are already available on DOT-Chain Defence, and the main assortment consists of reconnaissance devices. These can fly long distances and remain airborne for extended periods.
| Characteristic | Description |
|---|---|
| Communication Frequency | Depends on operator’s choice |
| Flight Altitude | Up to 10 km |
| Camera Type | Thermal, night vision |
| Range | Up to 100 km |
