Ukraine accuses Russia of recruiting Ukrainian citizens for sabotage in Poland
The Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs claims that Russia is using Ukrainians to carry out sabotage in Poland to shift the blame for its actions onto Ukraine. This statement was made in response to reports by Polish special services about the discovery of two Ukrainian citizens suspected of sabotage on the railway.
The incident that occurred on November 16 caused significant concern, as the sabotage undermined the railway line on the route to the border with Ukraine. The suspects, who arrived in Poland from Belarus, later returned, leaving traces of C-4 explosive usage. Polish law enforcement introduced the third level of terrorist threat after the incident.
Ukraine condemned such actions and drew attention to the cynicism of Russia in recruiting Ukrainian citizens for hybrid attacks aimed at destabilization. The statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasizes that Russia is conducting a large-scale hybrid war against Europe, trying to weaken the unity of Western partners in assisting Ukraine.
The Ukrainian government is ready to provide necessary assistance to its Polish colleagues in the investigation and implementation of preventive mechanisms to prevent such crimes in the future. Coordination of efforts with Poland and other partners remains one of Kyiv’s priorities in strengthening joint security.
