Alexander Horbunenko’s lawyer demands retraction from “Ukrainska Pravda” due to inaccurate information
The defense of Alexander Horbuneko, co-owner of the company “AgroGasTrading,” claims a series of inaccurate facts published by investigative journalists and demands their retraction.
Lawyer Bohdan Ustymenko asserts that journalists from “Ukrainska Pravda” spread false information about his client. According to Ustymenko, Alexander Horbuneko did not flee to the USA and did not hide there, contrary to what some publications asserted. The lawyer explains that the trip to the United States in February 2022 was to assist his family, and his return was delayed due to the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Ustymenko adds that his client actively informed Ukrainian law enforcement agencies about his whereabouts in the USA, but requests for remote participation in the investigation were ignored. Additionally, no procedural actions from NABU or SAP regarding Horbuneko after his arrest in the USA in April 2025 have been conducted.
Horbunenko’s defense demands retraction of the publications concerning the unconfirmed facts about his client, particularly on the YouTube channel of “Ukrainska Pravda.”
Earlier, Horbuneko mentioned informational attacks that might be connected with “AgroGasTrading’s” intention to participate in the privatization of the Odesa Port Plant. The privatization auction is scheduled for November 25 with a starting price of 4.5 billion UAH.
