CEO Nvidia called the building of the AI industry the largest in human history
At the World Economic Forum in Davos, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang stated that the current development of the AI industry marks the beginning of the largest infrastructure buildout in history, which will require trillion-dollar investments.
In an interview with Larry Fink, Chairman of BlackRock, Jensen Huang emphasized that despite concerns about potential job cuts, developing physical infrastructure for artificial intelligence generates significant demand for skilled tradespeople. This is due to the need for constructing a large number of data centers for the efficient training and operation of modern AI models, which in turn will create thousands of new jobs for plumbers, electricians, and construction workers.
According to Huang, the shortage of skilled workers and the complexity of the projects mean that such specialists can expect six-figure salaries. He also refuted the idea of a possible AI bubble, highlighting the high demand for renting Nvidia GPUs, whose prices continue to rise.
The President of Nvidia also believes that robotics is a particular opportunity for Europe, where companies are already partially redirecting budgets towards research and development in this field. It is anticipated that by 2025, Nvidia will receive around $200 billion in revenue from chip sales for data centers.
The main clients driving the AI buildout are tech giants such as Microsoft, Meta, Amazon, and Alphabet, who are already planning to invest about $500 billion in the development of their data centers.
