The special operation by the GUR unit destroyed an ammunition depot in the Kharkiv region
The special unit of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of Ukraine “Legion of Free Russia” successfully conducted an operation behind enemy lines in the Kharkiv region, destroying an ammunition depot and Russian military personnel.
In December, the legion’s fighters penetrated more than seven kilometers into enemy battle formations, where they found and destroyed a field ammunition depot along with the personnel guarding it. The GUR emphasized that there were no losses among the defenders. The depot was of significant importance for the supply and rotation of Russian units in the Kupiansk area.
During the operations, the legion’s fighters also disrupted an important Russian logistics route in the Zaporizhia direction, which was used for military supplies to Crimea. Additionally, warehouses and control points for drones in the Pokrovske direction were destroyed. As a result, drone operators and associated control elements used for reconnaissance and fire adjustment were eliminated.
The GUR noted that the sabotage and reconnaissance groups of the “Legion of Free Russia” are gradually stepping up their actions deep within enemy territory. This includes both pinpoint strikes and systemic pressure on logistics, management, and supply of occupation forces. “The legion’s priority remains unchanged – disorganizing command systems, disrupting logistics, and reducing the combat capabilities of the enemy before they reach the front line,” the intelligence stressed.
| Key Actions of the Legion | Consequences |
| Destruction of an ammunition depot in the Kharkiv region | Weakening the supply and rotation of Russian forces |
| Disabling a logistics route in the Zaporizhia direction | Complicating supplies to Crimea |
| Destruction of drone control points in the Pokrovske direction | Limiting reconnaissance and fire adjustment |
