The Russian military attacked a police evacuation unit “White Angels” vehicle in the Kharkiv region with a drone, resulting in the death of two officers and injuring another. The incident occurred near the village of Serednyi Burluk.
23-year-old Yulia Keleberda and 39-year-old Yevhen Kalhan were heading to evacuate civilians in the Kupiansk district when their armored vehicle was attacked by a Lancet drone. As a result of the strike, two police officers died on the spot, and one more officer was injured.
The National Police reported that Keleberda and Kalhan joined the “White Angels” from the unit’s inception in December 2022. During their service, they made multiple trips to dangerous localities, rescuing dozens of children, the elderly, and persons with disabilities.
After the deaths, Keleberda’s family is left behind, while Kalhan is survived by his wife, a 16-year-old son, a 7-year-old daughter, and his mother. This attack is part of a series of assaults carried out by Russia. In January, volunteers delivering bread were killed, and on February 17, a strike by a controlled FPV drone on a vehicle with Slovyansk TPP employees resulted in the death of three people.
