President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky instructed to strengthen defense measures in connection with new intelligence data regarding possible Russian strikes on Ukraine. This decision was made after a conference call concerning the situation in the regions.
Zelensky reported that intelligence has information about Russia’s preparation for a new massive strike. In connection with this, he addressed the Commander-in-Chief of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Anatolii Kryvonozhko, Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov, and head of UkrEnergo Vitalii Zaichenko, instructing them to prepare necessary additional defense measures during the day. These measures include coordination of efforts in the defense and energy security sectors.
During the meeting, the night attack on Ukraine was also discussed; during which “Zircon” missiles were used against energy facilities. The President emphasized that these actions take place even on the eve of important diplomatic meetings in Geneva, indicating Russia’s attitude towards the diplomatic efforts of the international community. “Every Russian missile is the aggressor’s response to calls to end the war,” Zelensky noted.
In January, the president already announced changes in the Air Forces, which include appointing a new deputy commander and setting the task to create an integrated anti-drone system over Ukraine.
