Kvartal 95 removed artists’ names from posters due to corruption suspicions of co-owner
Amid corruption accusations against Kvartal 95 co-owner Timur Mindich, the “Gomin” choir and singer KOLA refused to participate in the December concerts. The company changed the posters by removing the names of invited artists.
Kvartal 95 found itself at the center of a scandal due to suspicions of Timur Mindich’s involvement, a co-owner of the company, in the anti-corruption operation “Midas”. Against this backdrop, the “Gomin” choir and singer KOLA decided to cancel their performances at concerts scheduled for early December in Kyiv. The company’s statement noted that they do not want to subject invited artists to unnecessary informational pressure, so the poster was updated to avoid uncertainty.
According to the new poster, information about performers’ participation can now be found on ticket operators’ websites. Despite this, on the “Ukraine” site, where the concerts are to take place, the list of artists is already absent. Other announced performers, such as Nadya Dorofeeva, Monatik, Kazka, and the band “Antitila”, have not yet commented on the situation.
Kvartal 95 emphasized that the situation is not directly related to their work and creativity, and distanced themselves from political intrigues, in which they do not wish to participate. Meanwhile, the creative association Stadium Family, of which Mindich is also a co-owner, announced a temporary suspension of its activities due to the scandal.
| Artist | Participation Cancellation |
|---|---|
| Gomin Choir | Refused |
| KOLA | Refused |
This situation jeopardizes the reputation and hosting of concerts since artists do not want to be associated with controversial figures. The further developments may indicate changes in the performers’ lineup or even the cancellation of events, which will require additional efforts from the organizers to stabilize the situation.
