Kindle has introduced a new book transfer feature: AI no-spoiler reviews.

Amazon introduces Ask this Book feature for Kindle with artificial intelligence support

Amazon is implementing a new AI-feature called Ask this Book in Kindle, which will help readers deepen their understanding of book plots and characters without the risk of spoilers. The new option is already available for iOS users in the USA.

The Ask this Book feature helps answer questions about events and characters that readers have already encountered. This allows for follow-up questions by highlighting passages in the text without risking revealing the storyline. By using this technology, Amazon assures that the system reveals information only up to the current point of reading, which does not spoil the impression of future events.

However, the innovation has sparked various opinions in the publishing industry, as authors and publishers do not have the option to opt-out of its use. An Amazon representative notes that this decision was made to ensure a uniform reading experience. There is no option to disable the AI, which is causing discussion among publishing professionals.

In addition, Amazon plans to expand the availability of Ask this Book on other platforms by 2026, including Kindle devices and Android apps. The Recaps feature is also being actively developed, which will briefly summarize previously read parts of book series, potentially making it much easier for readers to refresh their memory on the plot.
