In the first half of 2026, Ukraine imported the most goods from China, Poland, and Germany. During this period, Ukraine’s trade turnover reached $70.3 billion, of which $21 billion was exports and $49.3 billion was imports.
The State Customs Service of Ukraine reports that the majority of imported goods consisted of machinery, equipment, and transport amounting to $21.3 billion. They brought in 120.6 billion hryvnias to the state budget, which is 28% of customs payments. Significant also remains the import of fuel and energy goods at $7.4 billion, which secured 148.3 billion hryvnias, or 34% of the revenues. Chemical industry products totaling $6.9 billion enriched the budget by 56.8 billion hryvnias, making up 13% of the revenues.
Regarding exports, the largest volumes of goods were directed to Poland, Turkey, and Italy. Ukraine exported the most food goods amounting to $12.5 billion, metals and products made from them – $2.2 billion, as well as machinery, equipment, and transport – $1.8 billion. The state budget received 802.3 million hryvnias in export duties on these goods.
| Country | Import Volume (billion dollars) |
|---|---|
| China | 13.9 |
| Poland | 4.7 |
| Germany | 3.2 |
These trade balance figures demonstrate Ukraine’s integration trends in global markets, strengthening trade links with European countries and China. Experts believe that this may stimulate economic growth and further expansion of production in Ukraine.
