The volume of reserved capacities for gas import from Greece to Ukraine reached a record level
Companies have doubled the booked capacities for the import of natural gas from Greece via Route 1 for December, bringing them to 1.2 million cubic meters per day. This is the highest figure for the entire existence of this route.
The results of the auction held on November 24 show that companies have booked 60% of the 2.2 million cubic meters per day offered by the Trans-Balkan route operator. In November, capacities were booked with a volume of only 0.6 million cubic meters per day. In November, the import of natural gas was carried out by D.Trading, Axpo Ukraine, and Greek DEPA Commercial. However, who exactly booked the December capacities is not officially known yet, but the market assumes that these could also be private companies. Earlier, during the period from July to August 2025, Route 1 imported about 18 million cubic meters of natural gas into Ukraine, and since the beginning of November, more than 14 million cubic meters.
This increase in bookings occurs against the backdrop of agreements between the Ukrainian and Greek governments regarding gas supplies to Ukraine. The political agreements reached in mid-November can strengthen Ukraine’s energy security, especially in the winter period.
To visually present the booking and import data of natural gas through Route 1, we offer a brief overview in the form of a table:
| Period | Booking volume (million cubic meters/day) | Imported volume (million cubic meters) |

| Beginning of November 2025 | N/A | 14 |
| November 2025 | 0.6 | N/A |
