Nscale and Microsoft Sign Agreement to Supply NVIDIA Processors for AI Infrastructure
Nscale has entered into a large-scale agreement with Microsoft to supply 200,000 NVIDIA processors for the development of artificial intelligence infrastructure in Europe and the USA. The project will be implemented jointly with the joint venture Aker ASA.
The agreement is a continuation of previous agreements between Nscale and Microsoft, including plans to build the most powerful supercomputer in the UK. This facility will be located in Texas with an initial capacity of 240 MW, expandable to 1.2 GW. The first phase is set to begin in the third quarter of 2026, with the expansion completion planned by the end of 2027.
Nscale also plans to deploy 12,600 processors at the Start Campus data center in Portugal from the first quarter of 2026, while the Aker–Nscale joint venture has already secured the delivery of 52,000 processors for an AI campus in Narvik, Norway. The contract includes provisions for providing Microsoft with AI infrastructure that complies with digital sovereignty regulations in the EU.
This project underscores the growing importance of AI infrastructure in today’s digital environment and showcases a powerful alliance between technology giants to meet the global demand for artificial intelligence.
