Deezer introduced a free tool for detecting AI-generated music
The music streaming service Deezer has introduced a new free tool that allows users to check if there is AI-created music in their playlists.
Deezer representatives note that about half of the new users migrating from other platforms already have AI-generated compositions in their playlists. To check the music, users need to provide the online tool with access to their Deezer account. The system will then analyze the playlists and show the number of AI-created tracks.
The tool is based on the AI music recognition technology implemented by Deezer at the beginning of 2025. According to the company, about 75,000 fully generated tracks are uploaded to the platform daily, accounting for more than 44% of all new uploads.
The active development of tools for detecting and labeling AI music began in 2025. In previous years, especially after the release of generated tracks such as “Heart on My Sleeve” in 2023, streaming services including Deezer and YouTube began implementing their own solutions to track such music.
In May 2026, Spotify introduced the verification badge “Verified by Spotify” to confirm that an artist is a real person and not artificial intelligence. These are the steps the industry is taking to adapt to the new realities of technological development.
