Microsoft addresses critical failures in Windows 11 update
Microsoft has reported critical issues in the security update for Windows 11, released in October 2025. The failures concern network connections and peripheral device functionality.
The main issue confirmed by the company involves a disruption in connection via the localhost address (127.0.0.1), which is critically important for software developers working with local web servers and other programs that rely on internal connections. Additionally, complaints have emerged regarding malfunctions of Logitech accessories and issues with connecting USB keyboards and mice in the Windows recovery environment, complicating system recovery in the event of failures.
Microsoft has already announced the release of an emergency fix to address these issues. The company stated that its deployment may take over 48 hours. In the meantime, users are advised to check for updates and restart their device, refraining from external solutions.
It is worth noting that on October 14, 2025, Windows 10 officially stopped receiving security updates. To continue support until 2026, Microsoft offers a paid Extended Security Update (ESU) program.
