Rakuten Viber has started integrating ChatGPT for iOS and Android
Rakuten Viber and OpenAI have joined forces to launch ChatGPT on Viber. New artificial intelligence features will be available to users on iOS and Android platforms, and later in the desktop version.
As part of the partnership, each user can open a separate chat with ChatGPT, where they can ask questions, search for information, and discuss their own ideas. The integration allows users to tag ChatGPT in personal or group chats to get assistance only on specific requests.
Among the new features, there is image editing through ChatGPT Images, generating brief summaries of articles and documents, as well as creating quick conversation summaries. Users will be able to edit texts before sending and translate messages into other languages. Although most features do not require a separate account, image editing will require using a ChatGPT account.
The new tools are already available in the latest version of the app and will be processed by OpenAI according to privacy policy. Data transfer to OpenAI will be limited to selected texts, images, or requests only.
Previously, OpenAI announced plans for a major update of ChatGPT aimed at transforming it into a multifunctional application. This could be an important step for the company before a possible stock market entry.
