Border guards on the departure of men aged 18-22 from Ukraine: This is a small part of the overall flow.

Passenger flow from Ukraine is decreasing: mainly women, children, and the elderly are leaving

The number of passengers crossing the Ukrainian border has significantly decreased in September and October, particularly among young men. This was reported by Andriy Demchenko, spokesperson of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.

Demchenko noted that Ukrainian border guards do not keep records of border crossings by age categories. Nevertheless, according to him, the majority of travelers are women, children, and the elderly. In particular, the number of men aged 18-22 leaving Ukraine or entering it is insignificant in the overall passenger flow.

Passenger flow in September decreased by one million crossings compared to August, and this trend continues in October. Demchenko also stated that he cannot confirm the data from Polish border guards, who reported a significant number of young Ukrainian men leaving the country.

Earlier, The Telegraph newspaper, citing Polish border data, reported about nearly 100,000 Ukrainians aged 18-22 who left the country in two months. It should be noted that the partial relaxation of exit conditions for this category of citizens may have influenced the statistics.

Month Number of crossings
August 2 million
September 1 million
October 0.9 million

Analysts believe that the decrease in passenger flow may be related to seasonal fluctuations and changing economic conditions. Further observation of the situation will help better understand these trends.
